Eurasian Plate

The Eurasian Plate is one of the largest tectonic plates on Earth, encompassing most of Europe and Asia. Its collision with the Indian Plate created the Himalayan mountain range, the world's highest mountains. The plate extends from the Mid-Atlantic Ridge in the west to the Pacific subduction zones in the east. Its complex boundaries include the Alpine-Himalayan orogenic belt, where ongoing continental collisions continue to build some of Earth's most dramatic mountain ranges.
